The brief
The house had the view and the light, but every room felt like a waiting room. Three children, two dogs and a lot of glass: the family wanted somewhere they could actually sit down.

Our approach
We lowered everything. A deep sofa runs along the window wall, the floors went from grey tile to oiled oak, and the kitchen lost its island for a long table that seats ten.
The sample board

White oak

Lime plaster

Wool bouclé

Travertine

The result
The family uses every room now, including the one with the view. The sofa covers come off for washing, which was the most important line in the brief.
