The brief
The owners inherited a cabin that had been half modernised in the 2000s. They wanted the original feeling back, with a kitchen and heating that work in January.

Our approach
We stripped out the plasterboard, oiled the cedar, put a stove where everyone passes it and built the beds into the eaves.
The sample board

Cedar

Wool bouclé

Slate

Linen

The result
It now sleeps eight and is warm in winter. The stove uses a third of the wood the old one did.
